The one-eared dog Bruno, who lives at the SPCA of Wake County in North Carolina, made his "best friend" look like him, giving him a new father to take care of him.
The dog is pictured with his freshly-one-eared stuffed toy at the SPCA of Wake County's gallery of Bruno's artistic creations. "Bruno tore one of the ears off his favorite stuffed toy — the same ear he's missing himself," the shelter wrote on Facebook. These pictures were taken by a team member who discovered it and shared them with the rest of the group. The pictures of Bruno playing with his toy went viral.
The workers at the shelter discovered that Bruno had a very unpleasant background and that his ear loss was everything but cute.
"Bruno used to live chained up outside, and his ear was torn off when another dog attacked him, and he couldn't run away," the animal shelter claims. But Bruno has a closest buddy who resembles him exactly, proving that there is nothing wrong with him. The shelter said, "You're perfect just the way you are, Bruno."
Bruno "came from a difficult situation" where he was chained outside year-round, suffering through "freezing winters" and "hot N.C. summers," and unable to get relief, the SPCA told FOX10.
The SPCA of Wake County in North Carolina is home to Bruno, a dog with one ear who chose to make his "best friend" resemble him. And as a result, he now has a father to take care of him.
After the SPCA of Wake County posted pictures of the dog with his newly one-eared stuffed toy, images of Bruno's invention quickly went viral. The shelter posted on Facebook, "Bruno tore off one of the ears of his favorite stuffed toy — the same ear he's missing himself." The employee who discovered it was shocked and decided to show the rest of the crew by taking these pictures.
The shelter explained that Bruno's history was anything but charming and that the way he lost his ear was not adorable.
"Bruno used to live tied up outside, and his ear was torn off when another dog attacked him, and he couldn't run away," the shelter said. However, Bruno is confident that he is in good health and can now use his best friend as evidence. Bruno, you are wonderful just the way you are.
According to the SPCA, Bruno "came from a difficult situation" where he was confined to the outside year-round, through "freezing winters" and "hot N.C. summers," and was unable to find relief.
His outside life also had an effect on his health. "Bruno has heartworm disease from spending so much time outside, but with your kind donations, SPCA Wake will be able to cover the complete cost of his treatment over the next months! Unfortunately, heartworm illness, which is serious and often lethal, affects thousands of shelter dogs in North Carolina every year, making it extremely difficult for them to find homes.
Bruno is polite and lovely despite the difficulties he has had, the shelter instantly noted.
Despite his pouty eyes, he is a very cheerful and loving man, and his tail never stops wagging. You would never know he had such a difficult beginning to life. Staff from the SPCA spoke to FOX10. He is charming, smart, and well-behaved.
They continued by saying that he still enjoys other dogs and is friendly with everyone.
Bruno's adorable pictures gained a lot of online attention, and the original Facebook post received over 50,000 shares. After reading Bruno's tale, a guy concluded that the dog was the one for him."And just like that, Bruno has a new dad," the SPCA gushed about the good news. Of course, he had to bring his matching plush along so they may stay pals forever.
According to the SPCA's footage of Bruno's Freedom Walk, the toy followed him.
The animal sanctuary added, "Bruno's new owner adores him just as he is and has committed to give him unconditional affection for the rest of his days.
